Plot Twist Books is an independent bookstore in the heart of downtown South Charleston, West Virginia. Co-owned by Matt Browning and Brian Mann, we carry new and used books and bookish gifts. It’s a retirement dream that we aren’t waiting for retirement to accomplish!
Matt Browning is our resident book lover. He is an author and podcaster. His books include Bookstore Explorer: West Virginia, a celebration of the Mountain State’s indie bookshops; Chicks and the City, a Mom’s Choice award-winning picture book about urban farming, and The Definitive Golden Girls Cultural Reference Guide, a pop culture encyclopedia from the classic TV series. He has been exploring independent bookstores for years through his blog and social media and currently hosts the Bookstore Explorer podcast, where he looks with booksellers about the indie bookshop business.
Brian Mann is our resident foodie. He curates our cookbook section and operates Plot Twist Kitchen, our side account where he prepares and samples recipes from the books we have available in the shop.
